Featured Electronic Artist - Trentemøller
It amazes me how much talent comes completely out of nowhere in the world of electronic music production. Like Claude Von Stroke and Jesse Rose, Trentemøller (MySpace here) is another stunning example of a producer that ascended straight to the top soon after his debut.
Only about 3.5 years into solo music production, this shadowy looking Danish techno powerhouse has already released remixes that have found their way into every major DJ’s crates, cd-wallets, and hard drives.
In October of 2006 he released his highly acclaimed debut album The Last Resort (Amazon link here) on Steve Bug’s Poker Flat after several previous LP releases with the same label.
He also collected the Essential Mix of the Year accolade for 2006 from the BBC’s Radio 1 listeners. If you don’t know it, this is pretty much the gig that tells the world you have arrived as a DJ. Top shelf talent only.
The two tracks below are just a sampling of his discography. He has incredible range and the ability to emote within a wide spectrum of electronic music genres.
Check out his remix of his own track “Moan” (much more danceable than the original on The Last Resort; made its way into his Essential Mix) and his remix of Djosos Krost’s Chapter One (thick bass, haunting Rastafarian vocals). Also of note are his remixes of Röyksopp’s “What Else Is There” and Moby’s “Go.”
